Farmhouse vs Resort Wedding Venues in Bangalore: What to Compare
Published
By Le Roma Samsara · Updated

Should you choose a farmhouse or a resort for your wedding?
Choose the property whose confirmed spaces, rooms, services and total quote fit your brief. A farmhouse can suit a family that wants to arrange suppliers and the setting itself; a resort can suit a residential celebration where rooms and meals are coordinated on site. Neither label guarantees privacy, infrastructure, vendor freedom or an all-inclusive package.
This guide is published by Le Roma Samsara about the decisions couples face. Use the same checklist with every property, including ours.
Compare the actual offer
| Decision | Ask a farmhouse | Ask a resort |
|---|---|---|
| Guest stay | Are there rooms, what occupancy is allowed, and where would overflow stay? | How many rooms are held for every night, and are other guests staying too? |
| Supplier choice | Which outside vendors are permitted, and what must they provide? | Which services are in-house, optional or restricted to approved suppliers? |
| Weather | Is the covered fallback suitable for the full intended layout? | Is a specific fallback reserved, or merely shown in the brochure? |
| Infrastructure | Confirm power, toilets, water, access, parking and service responsibility. | Confirm the same items and what is included in the quoted allocation. |
| Coordination | Who manages supplier access and the run sheet? | What does venue coordination cover, and do you still need a planner? |
| Privacy | What areas and times are exclusive to your group? | Does the quote include a buyout, a room block or only selected spaces? |
| Cost | Add every required supplier and service to the rental. | Identify exclusions and avoid counting bundled services twice. |
Inspect these on a site visit and record the answers. Avoid assuming that one category has no backup power or that the other always includes valet, AV and a wedding planner.
When each format may fit
A property with flexible external suppliers may fit if you have a planner, a defined production brief and time to coordinate services. Confirm delivery access, setup windows, catering facilities and cleanup responsibilities.
A property with accommodation and in-house meals may fit if guests are travelling, the wedding spans several days, or you want fewer transfers. Confirm room availability independently from the function space. A room count alone is not a sleeping-capacity guarantee.
For either format, identify who is responsible for each handoff. A single venue contact does not automatically take responsibility for every external vendor.
Compare totals using the same wedding brief
Give both properties the same dates, function-wise attendance, room nights, menu expectations, decor requirements and weather plan. Then use the wedding quote worksheet. This page does not use generic market price bands because they can conceal differences in services and dates.
A 300-person seated dinner also needs a different layout from a 300-person floating reception. Compare usable layouts after the stage, buffet, access routes and production setup have been agreed.
Samsara as a specific comparison point
Samsara is a lakefront venue with an in-house pure-vegetarian kitchen, accommodation and six celebration spaces described in the wedding brochure. The covered Padma Pavilion is open-sided; Savaya is an air-conditioned banquet space. Neither description replaces a function-specific weather plan.
| Space | Seated | Cluster | Floating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Padma Lawns | 600 | 360 | 1000 |
| Padma Pavilion | 400 | 200 | 600 |
| Savaya Banquets | 250 | 120 | 500 |
The overall event maximum is 1,200; it is not a per-space or overnight figure. Stage, dining, access, weather and the agreed layout can reduce the usable capacity. The covered pavilion is open-sided; confirm its suitability for the weather plan. See the wedding brochure and confirm your allocation with the events team.
| Block | Rooms / suites | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Rumah | 24 | 20 rooms and 4 family suites |
| Rahayu | 44 | Confirm room types and occupancy |
| Aanya | 80 | Confirm room types and occupancy |
| Total | 148 | Includes the family suites; availability is date-specific |
Room inventory is not an overnight guest-capacity guarantee. Ask the team to confirm the rooming list, permitted occupancy and rooms held for every night. See the wedding brochure and confirm your allocation with the events team.
Ask about outside-vendor policy, catering scope, room allocation, exclusivity and the costs of optional services. These are quote questions, not promises of a standard inclusive package.
A useful site visit
Walk the guest route from arrival to ceremony, dining and rooms. Check a realistic seating plan and the fallback space. Review supplier access and turnaround time between functions. Take the rain-plan checklist and leave with a written list of what still needs confirmation.
